Job Description
We’re looking for a strategic buyer to help shape our European supply chain for battery cell components. You’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to source key materials—like cathodes, anodes, separators, and electrolytes—that power our next-generation gigafactories. This role is part of a collaborative procurement team focused on delivering quality, cost-effective solutions aligned with technical and sustainability goals. Outline and Responsibilities: Lead sourcing activities for critical cell components across EU programs Run tenders, evaluate suppliers, and support contract execution Negotiate commercial terms and long-term supply agreements Build and maintain strong connections with Global Purchasing to identify strategies and to develop suppliers both globally and locally in EU/UK Coordinate with engineering and project teams to align specifications and delivery timelines Monitor supplier performance and help resolve issues, including claims and change orders Contribute to cost optimization and support EU localization efforts Background and Experience Required: 5 years in strategic procurement, ideally in battery, chemical, or advanced materials sectors. Familiarity with battery cell components and their role in production A degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating material contracts Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Fluent in English; Asian languages (esp. Chinese) are a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and SAP Willingness to travel regularly within the EU, and occasionally to Asia based on business needs.
