Planning Manager – Manufacturing | Chester | £50,000 Benefits We’re working with a leading manufacturing business based in Chester that’s looking to appoint an experienced Planning Manager to join their growing operations team. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to drive efficiency, improve production planning processes, and contribute to the continued success of a well-established manufacturer. The Role As Planning Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the production planning function to ensure seamless coordination between operations, supply chain, and customer demand. You’ll take ownership of capacity planning, materials scheduling, and forecasting to deliver on-time performance and optimise productivity across the site. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage production plans in line with customer requirements and business objectives. Lead a small planning team, ensuring clear communication and effective prioritisation. Analyse capacity and resource utilisation to identify and resolve bottlenecks. Work closely with procurement, operations, and logistics teams to ensure material availability. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency. Produce regular performance reports and KPIs for senior management. About You Proven experience in a planning or scheduling role within a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments. Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly organised, proactive, and process-driven.
