Accounts Payable

Temporary Accounts Payable role with a State Government Department based near Perth's CBD. Your new company The Accounts Payable Officer plays a key role in the Finance Services team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments in accordance with the Financial Management Act and Treasurer’s Instructions. This role supports the department’s financial operations and contributes to the delivery of high-quality financial services. This is a four-month temporary contract with the potential for extension, subject to performance and operational requirements. Your new role Maintain and manage the Accounts Payable system, including invoice processing and payment runs. Administer corporate credit cards and travel cards, ensuring compliance with internal policies. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment queries and discrepancies. Assist with procurement and contract administration tasks. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations and reporting. Maintain vendor master data and ensure integrity of financial records. Investigate and resolve duplicate or incorrect payments. Prepare journal entries and assist with financial audits as required. What you'll need to succeed Demonstrated experience in accounts payable or financial administration. Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial systems. Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders. Proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. What you'll get in return An immediate start.
