The Role Southern Ports is recruiting a Specialist – Property and Regulatory Licensing to join their team with the flexibility to be based at any of our locations such as Perth, Bunbury, Albany or Esperance. Reporting to the Manager Property and Regulatory Licensing, the Specialist – Property and Regulatory Licensing will be responsible for supporting the management of Southern Ports’ property, land and port waters portfolio to maximise value, ensure regulatory compliance and reduce risk while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. This role includes assisting with lease and licence administration, overseeing regulatory licensing for port service providers, and maintaining strong relationships with tenants, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to support Southern Ports’ strategic goals. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist in managing, developing and negotiating agreements for Southern Ports’ leased and licensed land and property portfolio. Support the establishment and management of regulatory licensing for port services (including stevedoring, towage, lines boat, mooring, bunkering). Administer property portfolio leases, licenses, and related contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and coordination of tenders/expressions of interest in line with commercial best practice. Foster and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, lessees, licensees, service providers, and external stakeholders including government agencies. Ensure adherence to Southern Ports’ policies, legislative requirements and best commercial practices Required Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial or property roles including, leasing, or regulatory compliance Proven ability to draft, negotiate and manage commercial agreements, including leases and licenses Practical and proven hands-on experience in negotiating, managing and closing out commercial agreements Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience in property portfolio optimisation and due diligence Sound knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements relating to property, leasing, and contract management.
