Team Leader – Customer Service Are you Cool for Cats and great with people? Can you still use a keyboard with a cat sitting on it? Full time (negotiable) Initial 6 month contract with potential ongoing work About the Role We are looking for a calm, capable leader to guide our Customer Service team and support the care of cats right across the shelter. This role sits at the heart of Ten Lives — welcoming cats into care, working with people bringing them in, and coordinating closely with vets, animal attendants, foster carers and volunteers. You will set the tone for great service, work the room when things get hectic, and be the go to for escalations. We can teach you about cats and our systems, but what matters most is your empathy, attitude, and can do approach. This role leads the Customer Service team and reports to the Operations Manager. It is a 6 month contract, but we expect ongoing opportunities for the right person even if not in the same role. What You Will Be Doing Lead the Customer Service team at the front desk Welcome cats into care and work with people bringing them in Collaborate with vets, animal attendants and foster carers to ensure the best possible care Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies Support volunteers across the shelter and in Op Shops Handle enquiries and situations with professionalism and empathy Assist hands on with cats coming into our care What We Offer A 6 month contract with real prospects for ongoing work Full time role with flexibility to negotiate hours Purpose led work that benefits people, the planet and pussycats Conditions under the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award Selection Criteria To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate: Proven customer service excellence : at least 3 years in a fast paced environment with the confidence to manage a busy front office and communicate clearly and sincerely across channels Strong organisational and interpersonal skills : able to multitask, prioritise and stay calm under pressure with a warm and respectful approach to people from all walks of life A professional and hands on attitude : representing Ten Lives with integrity, showing empathy, and ready to roll up your sleeves to support both people and cats How to Apply Submit your resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria .
