Job Description
Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist Profession: Cardiovascular Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year of level 1 experience; may consider level 2. License: AHA BLS Certifications: Must meet eligibility requirements for ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) within 12 months of hire date or successful completion of Paramedic training program within 12 months of hire date. Must-Have: - Associate's degree or higher required. - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with an emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty, or a JRCERT accredited educational program with an emphasis in radiologic technology, or completion of a Paramedic training program. Description: Under immediate to general supervision, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. Focus on adult and/or pediatric patient populations for aiding medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of conditions, defects, and diseases. Utilizes entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and resources to provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations. Utilizes a variety of specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm all required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality is consistent with established protocols. Transfers images and data to the appropriate systems, enters technical data/findings, and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs operator-level quality control checks and maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments. Performs other duties as assigned. Required skills include applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, and medical terminology. Must be able to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and consistently report to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs is essential. Ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes is necessary. Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations is important. Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information is required. Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. Knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular, and/or radiologic technologies is crucial. Ability to apply core-level specialty theory and techniques to perform and analyze study data or procedure documentation with general supervision.
