Entity: Technology Job Family Group: IT&S Group Job Description: You will work with You will join our Digital Trading Analytics department, supporting the Trading Analytics & Insights (TA&I) organisation. This is a high-performing, global team that collaborates closely with traders, trading analysts, business analysts, and engineers to deliver data-driven insights for energy trading. You will work in an Agile environment (Kanban/Scrum) and use tools such as Azure DevOps for planning and tracking work. Let me tell you about the role As a Enterprise Tech Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that power our business intelligence and analytics platforms. You will work with modern technologies to ensure data accuracy, optimise performance, and enable seamless integration across systems. This role is critical to supporting trading operations by delivering reliable, high-quality data solutions. What you will deliver Architect, design, and implement data pipelines using Python (Pandas), SQL, and Apache Airflow. Build and maintain ETL processes for data from APIs, databases, and flat files. Leverage AWS services (S3, Redshift, EC2) for cloud-based data solutions. Optimise and troubleshoot pipelines for efficiency and scalability. Use Databricks for large-scale data processing. Create data visualisations for technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business needs. Apply Agile practices, maintain documentation, and follow best practices for testing and quality assurance. What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications) 3 years as a Data Engineer Strong Python skills (Pandas, web scraping libraries like Selenium, Beautiful Soup, Requests) Advanced SQL and relational database knowledge Solid ETL and pipeline design experience Hands-on with Apache Airflow Familiarity with AWS (S3, EC2, EKS) Comfortable in Linux and using Git Excellent communication and collaboration skills Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Experience with Databricks and visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI Knowledge of Agile practices and release processes Understanding of security standards, source control, and testing Highly responsible, self-motivated, and adaptable Strong organisational skills and passion for automation Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar About bp Our purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow.
