Job Description
The key duties of the position include: The Role Special Operations Command is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Australian Public Servants (APS) 6 Business Manager to coordinate complex financial, contract, and business management activities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of training outcomes through robust financial oversight, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. You will be accountable for cost management processes, ensuring a clear and consistent approach that aligns with management and financial accounting activities. You will work closely with Australian Defence Force (ADF) Business Managers within Special Operations Command to align business operations with strategic objectives, while managing financial performance, assurance, governance and compliance of these aforementioned attributes. Within Special Operations is a dedicated training authority component responsible for individual training across all Special Operation Command units. Special Operations Command is a complex, fast-paced environment comprising a professional integrated workforce including ADF personnel, APS and contractors. We work in conjunction with, other Defence Groups, our Allies, and our industry partners to deliver complex training programs for Special operations Command. In addition to being involved in the Systems Approach to Defence Learning identifying future training requirements and designs. Our Ideal Candidate To succeed in this role, you will have: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a business management setting, including financial management and administrative support, to achieve business outcomes. Experience in complex financial management of budget portfolios within the constraints of legislative and policy frameworks. Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders in a sensitive and confidential manner. Well-developed analytical and problem resolution skills to identify and analyse issues or problems and develop and document effective solutions. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively, establish, and maintain effective and productive working relationships. Proven ability to apply self-management, initiative and resilience to work. Eligibility Security Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
