Job Description

The key duties of the position include: The Role Within the Defence Distribution Control Centre (DDCC) the Transportation Operations Cell (TOC) provides technical transport operations support through three main functions, they are, Transport relationships, route planning and management, Shipping Point and Transport Management (TM) role management, and TM data and structure management. The TOC is responsible for the management of data governance and execution processes for approved entry of new master data elements into ERP TM master data fields on behalf of all Defence distribution stakeholders. These critical tasks enable support to new and emerging Operational, Exercise, and ‘in-stride’ distribution activities. In addition to the entry of new master data elements, the TOC also manages the approved changes to said elements. The TOC within the DDCC is the only organisation within the Defence enterprise that carries out these critical data creation and maintenance functions and tasks. Liaison with ADF / Contractors via telephone and other electronic means. About our Team The Transport Operations Cell is responsible for managing TM master data on behalf of Organisation Managers across the enterprise to ensure its accuracy, integrity, and consistency. TM Master Data includes shipping points/receiving points, TM locations, transportation zones, default routes and TM organisational data. Our Ideal Candidate Be able to: Work independently or under limited guidance in relation to the Transport Operations Cell. Complex or difficult issues are discussed with team leaders or experts. Make decisions that may impact on the overall outcomes for the Transport Operations Cell and its stakeholders. Decisions may have a minor effect externally within approved policy and operational parameters. Exercise judgement to make decisions governed by the application of rules, regulations, best practice principles or the Transport Operations Cell Standing Operational Procedures instructions, under the support and general direction of a higher classification level. Make decisions within defined parameters and set new precedents based on sound subject matter knowledge and professional judgement under direction of the TOC Team Leader. Perform objective and systematic research and analysis to obtain accurate conclusions based on evidence. Identify problems or issues and resolve or establish procedures to mitigate. Eligibility Security Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
