Tax Manager | High-Growth Technology Group $140,000 – $160,000 | Sydney CBD / WFH Flexibility Group Tax Compliance | M&A and International Expansion The Opportunity Our client is a leading technology investment group who are scaling at pace, expanding their international footprint across Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. They are now looking to appoint a Tax Manager to oversee the group’s tax compliance and advisory activities across all regions. This is a newly created role that offers the scope to shape and mature the tax function of a sophisticated and acquisitive technology business. The Challenge Reporting to the CFO, the Tax Manager will act as the central point of contact for all tax compliance, reporting, and advisory matters across the group. You will manage external advisors and drive consistency and accuracy in tax governance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities Manage the group’s corporate and indirect tax compliance Oversee the preparation and review of income tax returns, BAS, payroll tax, PAYG, and FBT returns Coordinate global tax payments and ensure timely lodgements with relevant authorities Reconcile tax balances and disclosures within management and statutory reports Manage tax governance, documentation, and transfer pricing compliance Provide tax technical advice on M&A, restructures, and international expansion, including thin capitalisation impacts Prepare tax journals and disclosures for audited financial statements Liaise with external auditors, advisors, and tax authorities Support Finance and Treasury with intragroup funding flows and board documentation Develop and improve internal processes to strengthen tax control and efficiency The Expertise The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical skill and commercial awareness. You’ll be comfortable delivering outcomes under tight deadlines. Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce CA/CPA/CTA (or equivalent) required 5 years’ corporate tax experience within a large business or Big 4 firm Proven capability in tax compliance and advisory across multiple jurisdictions Experience supporting M&A or restructuring activities Strong knowledge of Australian tax law and accounting standards (AASB) Excellent stakeholder management and written communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities High attention to detail and strong Excel proficiency The Next Step If this role aligns with your experience and ambitions, and you would like further details on the position, client, or remuneration, please contact Henry Clunies-Ross for a confidential discussion on 0477 359 .
