Work collaboratively with young people in their recovery.Provide support that is client-focused, community oriented, and sensitive.Assist young people with mental health issues to develop and maintain relationships, which facilitate independence.Assist young people with mental health issues to improve their daily living skills through guidance, supervision, and encouragement.Mentor and act as role models for young people in building positive social skills, utilising effective conflict management and negotiation, and building healthy relationships.Encourage and educate young people on healthy living habits to support their emotional wellbeing and the growth of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence. Requirements Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services or other related discipline (ideally a completed Diploma or Bachelors) Experience in working with young people experiencing mental health issuesDemonstrated capacity to relate to young people, their families/carers, and other stakeholders with dignity and respectAbility to assess risk and follow relevant protocols to manage crisis situations calmly and effectivelyDemonstrated and effective listening and communication skills in both written and verbal formats.Understanding of and commitment to the principles of duty of care, and rights to privacy and confidentialityAbility to help program participants link in with other relevant community resources and to promote the rights, responsibilities and recovery of young peopleMust be available for overnight shiftsMust be available to work a rotating 24/7 rosterMust be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue CardMust hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance Current Driver's license Stride is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
