This is a 12 month fixed term, part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension Are you a passionate Early Childhood Teacher who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused environment? Padbury Community Kindergarten is seeking an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. Located in the northern suburb of Padbury, our purpose-built centre is linked to Bambara Primary School and offers an alternative to school-based kindergarten programs. We provide engaging early childhood programs for students turning four by June 30 of their kindergarten year. Our strong partnerships with families and the wider community are central to our approach. The Role This is a unique opportunity to work within a highly collaborative teaching team. While each teacher has their own class, curriculum planning, documentation, and learning resources are co-managed across both groups. This structure requires: A commitment to teamwork and shared goals Strong communication and independent planning skills A warm, child-centred approach grounded in intentional, play-based pedagogy You will ideally create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that balances creativity and exploration with clear routines and high expectations. A sound understanding of the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Standard is highly desirable. You will ideally use the environment as a “third teacher” to extend student’s learning meaningfully. Administrative responsibilities are part of the role therefore, computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Suite is important. As a Community Kindergarten, we are governed in partnership with a Parent Management Committee. The successful applicant would work closely with the Committee, Bambara Primary School, and the City of Joondalup. Participation in out-of-school events such as open days, fundraising, and occasional evening meetings is highly valued. We are looking for someone who will ideally be organised, enthusiastic, reflective, and genuinely passionate about working in a collaborative, play-based, community setting.
