Job Description

We are seeking to establish a pool of Laboratory Technicians for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. The Role As Laboratory Technician you should, under supervision, provide support to teaching staff in the area of routine chemical and equipment preparation, and construction of simple apparatus for science classes. The successful applicant will ideally perform basic repairs and maintenance on the equipment whilst constructing teaching aids as required. Additionally, you should be responsible for managing stock levels, labelling, maintaining, and safely storing laboratory chemicals, equipment, and resources, as well as the disposal of chemical, physical, and biological laboratory materials in accordance with relevant policy and legislation. Demonstrated knowledge of safe working practices, laboratory safety requirements and procedures and a willingness for further training related to safety.
