Job Description
The Engineering and Facilities Manager, is in charge of the Engineering Technical department and team of Engineering Technicians. This team ensures the day-to-day running of the site, specifically Operations/Manufacturing is maintained to the highest GMP standards of compliance. As an effective communicator the occupier of this role must demonstrate a good level of communication both at the team level and between internal departments, management groups and external contractors. Project management and budget control is essential to this role, as the individual will be expected to produce job estimates, Capex applications and expenditure reports. Key Roles/Responsibilities The Engineering and facilities Manager must be capable of independently providing the overall direction and co-ordination for the Engineering department and its personnel. The ability to plan, implement, control and execute the actions associated with any plan to meet site deadlines and regulatory requirements are a key requirement of this role. Working as the lead of the facilities engineering team, the Engineer and Facilities Manager will provide professional and technical advice and support in relation to the pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and the manufacturing facility, including the installation and commissioning of on-site systems, including the WFI plant. As an effective communicator, the Engineering and Facilities Manager must demonstrate a good ability to communicate between engineering and facility personnel, contractors, site owners, internal stakeholders and managers. Understand the requirements of GMP manufacturing within a regulated industry and the associated system, building and validation requirements. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during both Client and regulatory audits and inspections Competencies Mechanical/Electrical Engineering experience and competence Management experience of a multi-discipline teams A background in effective people management Knowledge of Pharmaceutical/Biochemistry cGMP related process industry regulations and requirements A strong knowledge of cleanroom and facilities management Adept at both hands-on management and strategic management Project Management capabilities, demonstrating delivering improvements and projects delivered on time and to budget. An effective communicator The ability to manage departmental and project/Capex related budgets
