Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) Location: York Salary: £47,810 – £54,710 per annum (DOE, Pro Rata) ⏰ Hours: 28 per week Contract: Permanent / Part-Time Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist ready to take the next step in your career? Key Responsibilities Act as an autonomous Speech and Language Therapist within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. Assess and manage communication and swallowing difficulties in adults with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries. Develop and implement individualised rehabilitation and management plans. Work collaboratively with individuals, families, and social networks to overcome communication barriers. Deliver staff and carer training to promote effective communication support. Manage complex dysphagia cases and ensure safe, evidence-based interventions. Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives. About You You’re an experienced and confident clinician with a passion for neurorehabilitation and person-centred care. You bring: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Registration with the HCPC. Achieved Dysphagia Competencies. Specialist knowledge of communication and swallowing management in acquired brain injury (ABI). Expertise in social communication, cognitive communication, and communication partner training. Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience, including complex case management. Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
