Job Advert: Mechanical Contracts / Project Manager – Birmingham Position: Mechanical Contracts / Project Manager Location: Birmingham (On-site) Start Date: January 2026 Contract Type: Permanent Project Duration: Until July 2027 Project Type: Large-scale commercial development Salary: Competitive – DOE About the Project We are recruiting for a Mechanical Contracts / Project Manager to join a major new development just outside Birmingham City Centre. This is a large commercial complex running through to July 2027, offering long-term stability on a landmark project. Role Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the mechanical package on a multi-year, on-site construction project. You will oversee all mechanical installation works, ensuring quality, safety, programme compliance, and commercial control. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to work closely with the main contractor and project delivery teams. Key Responsibilities * Manage delivery of all mechanical services on site (HVAC, heating, plumbing, plant rooms, etc.) * Oversee subcontractors and labour resources * Produce and monitor programmes, including 2-week lookaheads * Manage materials, procurement and cost control * Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and client expectations * Attend site meetings and liaise with the main contractor and design teams * Drive progress while maintaining strong H&S standards * Support commissioning and handover stages Requirements * Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager or Mechanical Contracts Manager * Strong understanding of mechanical building services installation * Experience working on large commercial proejcts, PRS or similar multi-unit projects * Excellent organisational and communication skills * Ability to run a mechanical package independently on a live construction site * SSSTS/SMSTS preferred * Strong commercial awareness What’s on Offer * Long-term, stable project through to July 2027 (on- site) * Permanent position * Opportunity to lead a major mechanical package * Salary dependent on experience and quality of applicant Please apply or contact Anglian Recrutiment
