Job Description
The Associate Director – Territory Operations Management (AD‑TOM) is responsible for expanding AZ cell therapy territory and developing new therapeutic areas. This role requires deep knowledge of cell therapy treatment center operations and a focus on delivering patient‑centered solutions. A proven background in operationalizing cell therapy service lines is required. Reporting to a Regional Operations Director (ROD), the AD‑TOM provides operational and clinical information on AZ trials and commercial products, leads cell therapy activation activities, and monitors operational, quality, and clinical oversight post activation. Typical Accountabilities Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at assigned sites. Establish the service line to support AZ clinical and commercial ambitions (MD, PA, RN, MLT, CQA, etc.). Serve as the Site’s primary cell therapy operations readiness point of contact for multidisciplinary teams; collaborate with Supply Chain to align logistics, processes, and operations. Provide knowledge and expertise around AZ’s products and processes to customer stakeholders. Oversee operational and quality oversight, cell product modeling, and field quality support for sites in the assigned region. Build business relations with clinical and operational leaders and provide exemplary customer service. Lead operational meetings with physician leadership and cross‑functional teams to establish patient models for trials and commercial products. Maintain collaboration with cross‑functional partners (Cell Therapy Hub, Clin Ops, SMM, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Medical, Commercial) to manage customer healthcare centers and related clinical care. Oversee raw material collection, product receipt, storage, distribution, infusion, and chain of identity/custody. Lead the Site activation process using risk‑based tools for certification, training, and monitoring. Develop and execute training for Site HCPs; ensure access to COI/COC. Support quality records (deviations, CAPA, change control, etc.) and adhere to company policies and ethics. Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Essential BA or BS degree or equivalent experience. At least 8 years of experience in cell therapy with progressive responsibility. Proven ability to understand cell therapy service line infrastructure, resourcing, costs, and quality metrics. Extensive experience driving operational delivery to meet timelines, costs, and quality. Lead delivery through collaboration with internal and external providers. Excellent knowledge of cell therapy standards and regulations. Experience in selection and oversight of external providers and contract development/review. Desirable Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Life Sciences, Business. Program management / quality qualification (e.g., PMP, CPHQ). Experience working in a cell therapy program and across therapeutic areas. Experience with early‑phase clinical delivery.
